Will you beat the sun? 

MoonTrekker 2010 saw nearly 700 MoonTrekkers set off into the night from Mui Wo, Lantau. The second year of MoonTrekker brought hikers back to Lantau to take part in Hong Kong's most unique adventure race. We were delighted to see MoonTrekkers from 2009 challenge themselves once again as well as the many new faces. Undoubtedly the pace to beat the sun picked up. Nearly 600 MoonTrekkers succeeded in completing Moonlit 25 and Sunrise 40. In addition, we were joined by some of Hong Kong’s top endurance athletes and this was clearly reflected in results. Ryan Blair shaved a whooping 22 minutes off the Sunrise 40 route, finishing in just 4 hours 9 minutes (followed very closely by Stone Tsang) and an incredible 3 hours 23 for the Moonlit 25 by Michael Maddess.

MoonTrekker would like to thank all the participants, sponsors and all those who helped make this such a resounding success. 

We are also delighted that MoonTrekker 2010 helped raise over 60,000US$for Room to Read. Part of this money has already been put to good use with a new library facility completed in Sri Lanka [see progress report]. The remaining funds have been reserved for a further 10 projects in Cambodia, Vietnam and Nepal.
